My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Let me open this note by stating that it has been a joy and a pleasure to worship with and serve among you for the past few years, I have truly felt at home here in Arlington thanks to his church, and I know that God is at work through all of us and among us every day.
It is with a heavy heart that I need to let everyone know that my time as an Elder and as an active member of the Arlington church of Christ will be coming to an end soon. As you may know, I am currently employed by the US Government as a Federal Civil Servant at the Pentagon, but I have been selected to transfer to a position in Albuquerque, NM at Kirtland Air Force Base as soon as possible. Due to the current hiring freeze, the date of my transition is unknown, but I would anticipate that it will be resolved soon and I will be transitioning to that new location/position this summer.
With this change, it is imperative that the congregation select at least one Elder to take my place, and more if God calls you to nominate and ordain them at this time. To ensure that someone is in-place and ready to serve before I need to leave, we need to begin this process immediately. Please prayfully nominate qualified men to be considered for service in the role of Elder to share in the work of leading this amazing congregation. You can find the nomination form here. There are also physical copies in the center lobby of the meetinghouse.
God’s model for his church is to have multiple elders and deacons serving the needs of the congregation, both spiritually and physically. In accordance with that, it is vital that more elders are identified, appointed and take on this challenge. If you know of someone you think is qualified, please nominate them no later than 27 April so that they can be considered.
Serving in this role has been an honor and a blessing to me, and I believe that it will continue to be so for anyone who can follow me in this role. This has been my second opportunity to serve a congregation as an Elder, and I have loved it, and loved you as we have served together.
1 Timothy 3:1 reads “It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, [it is] a fine work he desires [to do.] ”

Permítanme comenzar esta nota diciendo que ha sido un gozo y un placer adorar y servir con ustedes durante los últimos años. Me he sentido realmente como en casa aquí en Arlington gracias a su iglesia, y sé que Dios obra a través de todos nosotros y entre nosotros cada día.
Con gran pesar, debo informarles que mi tiempo como anciano y miembro activo de la Iglesia de Cristo de Arlington llegará pronto a su fin.
