Directions, Parking, and Metro

You may reach our building by public transit (Metro bus or rail), car (yours or a taxi), bicycle, or walking.  Metro buses stop within a block of our church building and on Sunday mornings, we provide a shuttle service to and from a nearby Metro rail station.  Car parking for guests and the handicapped is reserved but otherwise is limited; on-street and shuttle-connected remote-lot parking is available.  Details are below.

We run a shuttle each Sunday morning between our building and the Virginia Square Metro rail stop (on the Orange Line). For more information about Metro service (bus and rail), please click here to be taken to Metro’s website.

Our shuttle leaves from the exit for the Virginia Square rail station (by the Starbucks coffee shop) at 10:15 a.m. and arrives at the church building in time for our 10:30 am service.  No need to call ahead, just look for the vehicle with the Arlington Church of Christ signs on the doors.  If it is cold, raining or snowing, please feel free to wait inside the Starbucks until the shuttle arrives. The shuttle returns riders to the Virginia Square rail station after worship service is over.

If you would like to attend Bible class at 9:30 a.m., please submit your request via our Contact Us page by no later than Friday at noon.  We will be happy to schedule a 9:20 a.m. pick up.

If you plan to ride the shuttle with small children, please call ahead or submit your request via our Contact Us page so that we can arrange for car seats.

Many cab companies serve the Arlington area. Here is a link to Arlington County Commuter Services.

Our church building is located on Highway 50 (Arlington Blvd.), a major east-west artery, at the intersection of Irving St.  Coming west from Washington, D.C. on Highway 50, our church building is at the third stoplight in Virginia, approximately two miles after crossing the Potomac River on the Roosevelt Bridge.  Coming east on Highway 50, the building is two blocks east of Glebe Road and one mile west of Washington Blvd.

Car parking in our city can be challenging. To help, here are three ways to park near our building.

On-site parking is reserved for visitors and handicapped, but limited.

On street parking on Sunday mornings is generally available within a block or two of our building.

Remote parking is available five blocks from our church building.  On Sunday mornings, we provide a shuttle from the remote parking lot to our building at 10:15 am and a return shuttle at 12:15 pm.  Our remote parking lot is Long Branch Elementary (33 North Fillmore St.), one block north of intersection Highway 50 (Arlington Boulevard) and Fillmore St.

Our church building also can be reached by bicycle. For safety, cyclists should avoid the motorized vehicular traffic on Arlington Blvd. and instead travel on the residential streets surrounding our building. Cyclists relying on Capital Bikeshare bicycles may return these bikes to the bike dock at Arlington Blvd. and Fillmore St., and then walk the four blocks west to our church building, or catch our shuttle from Long Branch Elementary, one block north of the bike dock.

Near our church building are many tourist attractions.  Hwy. 50 east will take you into the District of Columbia, allowing you to see the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery (2 miles from our building).  From there, you can continue on Hwy 50 to see the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Smithsonian Museums and the National Gallery of Art.  After worshipping with us, explore our beautiful and fascinating city!
